Over the last month I’ve been researching Margate’s bathing and resort history. My interest started having collected a few vintage postcards.
This month I’ve run the presentation and a guided walk with A’level students from Haberdasher’s Girls School early in November and year 3 at Lawrence College in Ramsgate mid-November..
Whilst collecting photographs I really began to appreciate the social history that was captured by photographers, capturing everyday scenes. The process also lead me to think of my own work differently: in viewing scenes from the past I can talk about seeking out new forms of beauty in shapes and the colours found in clothing and accessories today.
