More than just a painter
I’m a multi-dsicipline artist/educator living in Margate in Kent seeking to lead out from my own practice. I’m a painter first and foremost but I also have secondary and tertiary artforms to stretch my abilities, to support my teaching practice or to feed into the communication material or the build of exhibitions.
Founder of Go Create
Over the past 20 years I’ve been developing ideas on how to achieve real environmental change through art, design and skills and ways to deliver that message globally.
Go Create was originally set up to develop the expertise to facilitate workshops that could springboard from my own books and exhibitions to support the educational messaging.
Primary Art Collection
I have 3 book and film series each with a different teaching angle on sustainability which are designed to tie in with workshops and events including young designer programs. This is a sideline passion that I long to return to.
Secondary Project
This is a long term project which stems from the creation of children's books and fictional characters which inspire an artwork collection.
The entire project aims to inspire young artist, craftworkers and designers. I'm beginning to develop Junior Go Create to run that program of workshops.
Practice Based Research
As an artist/educator I'm fascinated in the process of creativity but also how art journeys unfold and how best creative education can support development and creative careers.
My own practice engagement feeds is critical for exhibition builds and pushing forward my own teaching practice and mentoring skills. Informal reserach and reflective practice forms an important role in pushing forward all aspects of my work as well as developing a philosophy and my own innovative teaching methods for Go Create.
Workshop Development & Delivery
My own complex art journey has helped to develop my art coaching skills and ignited a passion for student centred approaches to teaching art.
