I really began to sabotage some of my lillie paintings, I couldn’t quite understand what I was doing. I seemed to be overworking some of the paintings. By the end of the 2/3 hour session I could see that in all my overworking all I had achieved was a colour shift but I realised that infact that shift was significant. I really worked hard to change the colour ways in each of the different paintings. I also felt the overwhelming urge to work more abstractly and to invent compositions and to work from colour ways that were more an invention in my mind as opposed to working with actual reference. I felt satisfied by the end of the session. I still need to refine this more but this is as far as I will take it this session.
